Our Apporach to Healing
Therapeutic Alliance
We aim to create a trusting, non-judgmental environment in which one feels safe enough to explore thoughts and feelings, to say whatever comes to mind. Placing importance on developing and maintaining a therapeutic relationship also means that we are working together toward meeting your goals, all while capitalizing on your strengths and resources.
Our 90-minute initial session is a vital first step in forming a strong foundation as we start this collaborative process. We also offer same-day telehealth appointments.
Comprehensive Treatment
In addition to psychopharmaceutical medications, we may prescribe orthomolecular treatment which consists of time-tested vitamins, minerals, and supplements. Such ‘nutraceuticals’ can be complementary and/or beneficial on their own. We may also recommend psychotherapy, either with one of our staff members or with an outside referral.
If you are receiving ongoing care from other medical professionals, we are more than ready and willing to engage in a meaningful collaboration with them to increase quality of care from all sides.
Explore some of the modalities we use
We understand that every individual is unique. That's why we offer a diverse range of therapeutic modalities, carefully selecting and combining them to meet each patient's specific needs and goals. Explore some of the approaches we use to help our patients thrive.
-
CBT is a practical, evidence-based therapy that helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. We work together to identify unhelpful thinking patterns and develop healthier ways of coping with challenges. CBT is effective for a wide range of issues, including anxiety and depression.
-
Sometimes, the best approach is a blend of different therapies. In eclectic therapy, we draw upon various techniques from different modalities, like CBT and psychodynamic therapy, to create a customized treatment plan that's perfectly tailored to your individual needs.
-
EFT helps you understand and manage your emotions in a healthy way. We explore your feelings, learn how to process them, and develop strategies for transforming difficult emotions. EFT is particularly helpful for couples seeking to improve their relationship and build a stronger emotional connection.
-
We offer therapy for families and couples who want to improve their communication, resolve conflicts, and build stronger, healthier relationships. We work with individuals, couples, and families to create positive change.
-
Integrative therapy is at the heart of our approach. We combine the best of different therapeutic styles, like cognitive, family systems, and mindfulness-based techniques, to create a personalized and holistic treatment plan that addresses your unique needs and goals. This approach allows for flexibility and a truly individualized experience.
-
IPT focuses on how your relationships impact your mental health. We explore your current relationships and past experiences to identify patterns that may be contributing to your challenges. IPT is a short-term therapy that helps you develop healthier ways of relating to others.
-
MBCT combines the principles of cognitive therapy with mindfulness practices, like meditation. It's particularly helpful for managing stress, reducing anxiety, and coping with chronic pain or illness. MBCT helps you cultivate present-moment awareness and develop a more objective perspective on your thoughts and feelings.
-
MI is a collaborative approach that helps you tap into your own motivation for change. We work together to explore your ambivalence about making changes and support you in taking steps towards your goals. MI is often helpful for addressing addictive behaviors or making lifestyle changes.
-
We are committed to providing culturally sensitive care. We understand that everyone's experiences are shaped by their unique background, including their race, culture, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status. We strive to create a safe and inclusive space where you feel understood and respected.
-
Narrative therapy helps you explore the stories you tell yourself about your life. We work together to identify unhelpful narratives and create new, more empowering stories that support your well-being. This approach emphasizes your own expertise and empowers you to take control of your life's narrative.
-
In person-centered therapy, you are the expert on your own life. We provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your feelings, gain self-awareness, and discover your own solutions. We act as a compassionate guide, supporting you on your journey of self-discovery.
-
Psychodynamic therapy helps you explore the unconscious patterns and past experiences that may be influencing your current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By gaining insight into these patterns, you can develop a deeper understanding of yourself and create lasting change. We also explore the therapeutic relationship as a way to understand your relationships outside of therapy.
-
When appropriate, medication can be a valuable tool in managing mental health conditions. If medication is indicated, we will discuss the options with you, carefully considering your individual needs, preferences, and any potential side effects. Medication management is always integrated with other therapeutic approaches for a comprehensive treatment plan.
